TIME TRIAL RESULTS - 2020
SCA Championship Hill Climb
It was pleasing to have such a large entry this season, but a shame that the poor weather deterred so many from starting. Congratulations go to Lukas Nerurkar of VC Londres as he went inside four minutes. This was the quickest ride since Jamie Lowden’s stunning 3:49.1 back in 2015.
Defending champion Richard Cartland had to settle for third place and two SCA titles (senior and veteran), whilst Olivia Webb took both the womens' prize and the SCA title. |

SCA Championship 15
It was a huge shame that the event was affected by the two car RTA close to the finish line. The road closure by the police meant that 12 riders were unable to complete their rides and many others were adversely impacted. It is though a huge relief that no riders were involved and that there was no serious injury.
Although some form of finish sheet has been compiled and event prizes awarded the event has been nullified as the SCA Championship 15. It will not feature in the awards, nor be included in various Championship Points competitions or SPOCO competitions. |

SCA Sporting 25 (incl SCA Championship 25)
Benign conditions with not a puff of wind offered the prospect of fast times and so it proved with G25/49 course records tumbling.
Ryan Christensen of HuntBikeWheels.com once again beat Chris McNamara to complete the 10/25 double for the Bank Holiday weekend. Sally Turner on trainSharp broke the ladies course record in 1:02:15, finishing ahead of her teammate Lisa Davis. Chris McNamara of Nuun-Sigma Sport-London RT broke the veterans course record in 53:26. Matthew Houlberg of Meudon Pedal Heaven Le Col RT in 58:05 took over 2 minutes off the junior course record. Even more impressive is that this was on a road bike (in the TT bikes event). The road bikes event saw no fewer than six riders go inside Mike Coyle's previous road bike course record. Paul Burton of Paceline RT was the fastest of all with 55:43. In fact Paceline RT had three riders in the record breaking top six. Impressively the fastest team of 3 on the day was the Paceline RT trio of Paul Burton, Simon Skinner and Gareth Thomas - all on road bikes. Team TMC (Matthew Smith, Steven Kane, Robert Lovett) were the fastest SCA team. Some competitors clearly found the entry confusing. There were two road bikes in the TT event, and one TT bike in the road event. SCA COMPETITIONS
Points Competitions
Matthew Smith (Team TMC) leapfrogged into a single point lead over Mark Smith (Crawley Wheelers) with Steven Kane (Team TMC) close behind. Team TMC with Matthew Smith (116), Steven Kane (111) & Martin Gibbs (66) move well clear at the top of the team standings. The ladies competition has a three way tie with riders who have competed in, and won, just a single event. SPOCO Competitions Mark Smith (Crawley Wheelers) leads the SPOCO title, just ahead of the Team TMC pairing of Matthew Smith and Steven Kane. |
