On the first truly summer Sunday morning, Steve Dennis won by over two minutes from Rob Pelham and the host club's Steve Kane. The Team Prize was tightly contested, with the Wanderers just 43 seconds ahead of the Mitre, with In-Gear only 7 seconds further back.
A number of the later starters were DNS. Could this have been due to last-minute decisions to go and see Wiggo and Cav triumph in Paris that day?
Our commiserations to puncture victims Iain Brogden (before he even started) and Giovanni Burgess (with just half a mile remaining).
Our thanks to all the helpers, who made this a successful event on a beautiful morning. The great day was completed by the wonderful afternoon scenes on the Champs Elysees.
