A well deserved and overdue win for Dave Shepherd.
Murky misty conditions for the first hour didn't deter Dave Shepherd (GS Stella) from claiming the SCA championship 50 on the G50/10 A272/A24 course. His winning time of 1:57:30 was the only sub 2 hour ride of the morning though there it was pretty tight for placings 2 - 5.
James Ryan of Lewes Wanderers was 2nd on 2:01:16, an excellent effort for a first 50 and on a course that's almost sporting in places. Graeme Stirzaker (a3crg) was 3rd on 2:01:53 with Stuart Pearce (Kingston Phoenix RC) 4th on 2:02:37, narrowly edging out Tony Reeves 2:02:53 (5th).
Ben Fielden of a3crg claimed highest Vet plus with +32:33.
Only two ladies finished and Lisa Abrey of East London Velo convincingly won with 2:17:57. 2nd was Helen Millier on 2:26:30, almost a 9 minute improvement on her 09 time.
Worthing Excelsior were the fastest team on the day, repeating their 09 victory. Lewes Wanderers were second and continuing the sense of Deja Vu, Kevin Doe (Worthing) and Alan Lloyd (Lewes) again had the fastest line 3 improvements, albeit not quite a good as their 09 times.
Ann Human kindly did the results and a PDF of them is here.
